Job summary

Kindred Hospital Baldwin Park is seeking a friendly receptionist to operate the telephone switchboard, greet visitors and direct them to the appropriate department. You will ensure timely communication and accurate messages.

In this role, you may assist with admission paperwork and support clinical staff by managing calls for patients and families. A healthcare setting background and dependable attendance are essential.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and speak fluent English.
• Must have good and regular attendance.
• On the job or equivalent training/experience in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Answer, route and screen outside calls; transfer and take messages.
• Greet visitors and direct to proper location.
• Contact families to sign admission paperwork timely.
• Assist with charge entry and reconciliation of charges when needed.
• Pages code blue, fire, stat and emergency calls per protocol.
• Maintain department extension lists and hospital contact numbers.
• Notify leadership of emergency patients.
• Receive disaster information and notify proper personnel.
