Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital is seeking a Public Safety Officer responsible for routine safety and emergency security, protecting patients, staff, and visitors. You will respond to incidents, de-escalate confrontations, and serve as a training resource for colleagues and new hires.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, at least two years in security/public safety, and the ability to obtain and maintain certifications in firearms, taser, ASP baton, and Mental Health First Aid.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years in general security/public safety with firearm exposure or equivalent training.
• Must pass pre-employment psychological screening and maintain required trainings.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency incidents within the assigned facility.
• Safeguard patients, staff, visitors and property and de-escalate critical events.
• Conduct Public Safety training and onboarding for new employees.
• Serve as informal resource to colleagues and provide guidance.
