Job summary

Piedmont Newton Hospital is seeking a full-time security officer to safeguard patients, staff and visitors while maintaining clear safety protocols across the campus. You will respond to emergencies, deter threats, document incidents, and collaborate with hospital leadership to ensure a secure environment.

Required are a high school diploma or GED and 2 years of public safety/security experience, including firearm-handling as part of duties.

Qualifications

H.S. Diploma or GED is required.
At least 2 years of security/public safety experience, including bearing firearms as part of duty, is required.
Must pass pre-employment screenings and certifications as required.

Responsibilities

Ensure safety and security of patients, staff, and visitors, and safeguard property.
Serve as first responder to emergencies within the facility.
De-escalate critical events and use sound judgment in interactions with individuals.
Document incidents and conduct initial investigations.
Monitor at-risk individuals and respond to aggressive behavior.
Direct traffic when required and assist during emergencies.
Respond to aggressive behavior and apply restraints as needed.
Make sound judgments on force and safety to provide a secure environment.
Document in the medical record and enforce policies and laws.
