Job summary

FirstHealth of the Carolinas is seeking a General Duty Police Officer to protect life and property across the organization, with primary focus on hospital campuses in Moore, Hoke, Richmond, and Montgomery counties. Shifts include days, nights, holidays, and after-hours responses within a 24/7 public safety operation.

The role involves patrolling, responding to incidents, investigating crimes, testifying, and enforcing laws and policies.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school and completion of basic law enforcement training; experience preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Possession of a valid NC driver's license or the ability to get a NC driver's license.
• Certification by the North Carolina Justice Training and Standards Commission as a law enforcement officer or the ability to complete the NC BLET "Transfer" course.
• Prefer advanced law enforcement certification or ability to obtain within established timeframe.
• Prefer North Carolina General Instructor certification.

Responsibilities

• Patrol facilities and property by various means; check doors and windows; report hazardous conditions.
• Operate security systems and control access after hours at designated entrances.
• Maintain knowledge of emergency codes and first response procedures.
• Respond to calls for assistance, complaints, suspicious activity, and other needs; take appropriate action.
• Investigate traffic accidents and issue citations; direct traffic during emergencies.
• Conduct investigations, question witnesses, gather evidence, and arrest suspects.
• Advise the public on laws; testify in court; execute search warrants and serve papers.
• Regulate traffic and maintain order at public events.
• Perform related duties as required.
