Job summary

Responsibilities include supervising officers, managing access control, investigations, drills, and training, with a focus on calm leadership during emergencies and clear communication with all hospital stakeholders.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in security or healthcare security.
• Supervisory or leadership experience strongly preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to stay calm and lead others during emergencies.
• Proficiency with security technology and incident reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and direction to Public Safety Officers, including training and scheduling.
• Serve as shift leader in the absence of a Sergeant or higher-ranking officer.
• Patrol hospital buildings, grounds, and critical areas to ensure safety.
• Respond to emergencies, incidents, and alarms with coordinated actions.
• Oversee access control procedures, including ID verification and visitor management.
• Conduct and oversee investigations; prepare detailed reports.
• Support emergency response procedures, including evacuations and lockdowns.
• Communicate clearly with patients, visitors, and staff during incidents.
• Participate in training and professional development of Officers.
• Conduct safety drills to improve preparedness across departments.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Operate surveillance, access control, and alarm systems; report issues.
