Job summary

Corewell Health in Dearborn is seeking an Acute Care Hospital Registrar 1 to support the Physical Therapy clinic. You will register patients, collect demographics, verify insurance, collect co-pays, and direct patients to the appropriate service while maintaining a friendly, professional demeanor.

Under guidance of the Front Line Manager, you will use EPIC to document data, obtain referrals, explain payment options, provide cost estimates, and ensure compliance with privacy and hospital policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of relevant experience in customer service or healthcare.
• Must be 18 years of age to co-sign legal documents (hospital consent forms).
• Proficient in medical terminology and basic data entry.
• Preferred familiarity with EPIC, eligibility systems and third-party payer websites.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers promptly with a friendly reception.
• Register patients for visits and admit type via EPIC.
• Collect and document demographic and financial information.
• Verify insurance and coordinate referrals/authorizations as needed.
• Provide cost estimates and assist with payment plans and billing inquiries.
• Maintain compliance with privacy, security, and hospital policies.
