Job summary

Mercy Health, Springfield Regional Medical Center, seeks a Protective Services Officer (Unarmed) to support campus safety. You will escort patients and staff, patrol grounds, and respond to routine and emergency calls to protect people and property.

Requires a high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, and completion of crisis intervention training within 6 months. You will document incidents, coordinate with clinical teams and local law enforcement, and help maintain a respectful, safe

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Vocational/Technical degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Protects patients, visitors and employees by providing escorts, patrolling grounds, and mitigating environment of care safety hazards.
• Deters criminal activity through routine patrols of hospital property including parking lots and decks.
• Enforces policies such as parking regulations, visitation policies, drug enforcement, and tobacco-free/smoking policy.
• Monitors hospital activity on CCTV to detect escalating situations that may require protective services involvement.
• Intervenes in patient, visitor and staff confrontations as appropriate.
• Documents duties including completion of daily activity logs and incident reports.
