University Medical Center of El Paso (UMC) is seeking a Performance Improvement Engineer II who will focus on projects involving process design and implementation within the hospital. This role involves analyzing process flows and contributing significantly to patient care by utilizing a blend of quantitative and qualitative tools.

The ideal candidate will have five years of engineering experience, preferably in a hospital setting, and a strong knowledge of process improvement and data analysis.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in engineering in process improvement, data analysis.
• Preferably three years’ work experience in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Works on process design and implementation within the hospital setting.
• Analyzes process flows using quantitative and qualitative tools.
• Supports the organization’s analytics efforts.

Skills

Knowledge of information systems, including office automation and data analysis tools

High level of proficiency in business intelligence tools such as Power BI and/or Tableau

Knowledge of trends and advances in quality, process improvement

Working knowledge of the Malcolm Baldrige excellence framework

Experience in software system administration

Strong time management skills

Outstanding oral and written communication skills in English

Excellent analytical critical thinking skills

Knowledge of healthcare operations and/or healthcare facility design

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial & Systems Engineering or related field

Master’s degree preferred
