Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is hiring a Power Plant Stationary Engineer for the full-time evening shift (3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.) at our Chicago area hospital.

You will supervise and maintain boilers, chillers, cooling towers, feedwater and related systems, perform preventative maintenance, respond to service requests, and ensure safe operation in a high-demand clinical environment. Required: City of Chicago Stationary Engineer License, thorough knowledge of steam generation and refrigeration, 1–2

Qualifications

Valid City of Chicago Stationary Engineer License.
Thorough knowledge of steam generation and refrigeration.
1–2 years position-related experience.
High School Diploma or GED.
Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoots malfunctioning equipment and takes corrective action.
Servicing and repairing hospital utility and equipment systems.
Performs preventative maintenance and updates tasks as scheduled.
Responds to service requests and documents actions taken.
Operates and maintains boilers, chillers, cooling tower, and related systems.
Works with outside contractors on hospital projects.
