Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Night Shift Security Officer in Lorain to protect patients, staff and visitors. You will patrol hospital grounds, monitor CCTV, enforce policies, and respond to emergencies while maintaining a safe environment.

Position requires at least a high school diploma, OPOTA certification, and the ability to pass required trainings within the first year. Weekend and holiday availability are expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• OPOTA Certificate of Completion required.
• Associate and/or bachelor's degree preferred.
• IAHSS Basic Training and Certification within one year of hiring.

Responsibilities

• Protects patients, visitors and employees by providing escorts, patrolling grounds, and eliminating environment of care safety hazards.
• Deters vandalism, theft and property abuse through routine patrols of all hospital property incl. parking areas.
• Enforces hospital policies e.g. parking regulations, visitation policies, and tobacco free/smoking policy.
• Monitors hospital activity on closed circuit television to detect escalating situations and involve security as needed.
• Responds to emergency situations and hospital alarms; complete documentation of incidents.
• Completes mandatory education and training to maintain competencies and required certifications.
