Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Plumber/Steampipe Fitter to inspect and repair pipes, fittings, and plumbing fixtures for heating, water, gas and drainage systems. The role also covers operation and maintenance of medical air/suction systems and medical gases, including distribution and piping connections.

Hydronic systems require maintenance as well. The position is on-site with rotating shifts, weekends and on-call.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Four years of relevant experience or 240 hours vocational training required.
• Journeyman Plumber licensure must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• If one does not currently hold the Journeyman's license, licensure must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Inspecting and repairing pipes, fittings, and plumbing fixtures related to heating, water, gas and drainage systems.
• Operate, maintain and repair medical air and suction systems, medical gases including distribution, piping, and terminal connections.
• Maintain and repair heating and cooling hydronic systems.
