Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Four years of relevant experience OR 240 hours of vocational training required.
• Journeyman Plumber licensure must be obtained within 90 days from date of hire.
• MLB may be required depending on location.
• Anti-Backflow certification within one year of employment preferred (MPLB).
• Rotating shift, weekend rotation, and on-call requirements for mission essential personnel.

Position Summary

City/State Norfolk, VA Work Shift Rotating Overview: Plumber/Steampipe Fitter The Plumber/Steampipe Fitter is responsible for inspecting and repairing pipes, fittings, and plumbing fixtures related to the heating, water, gas and drainage systems, Sentara Norfolk General Hospital Facilities, Norfolk, Virginia. This individual will also be responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of medical air and suction systems, medical gasses to include the distribution, piping, and terminal connections in addition to being responsible for maintenance and repair of heating and cooling hydronic systems.

Education and Experience

• High School Grad or equivalent required.
• Four years of relevant experience OR 240 hours of vocational training required.

Certification and Licensure

• Journeyman Plumber licensure must be obtained within 90 days (or less) from date of hire.

Additional Requirements

• Depending on location, facility may require MLB upon hire.
• Some sites require individuals to obtain Anti-Backflow certification within one year of employment MPLB preferred.
• Rotating shift schedule, rotating week-end shifts and On-Call required for position Mission Essential Personnel Education.
