Job summary

Jefferson Health is seeking a Journeyman Plumber to install, maintain, and repair plumbing fixtures and piping across hospital facilities. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, inspecting drainage and fire protection systems, and ensuring compliance with electrical safety and lockout/tagout standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of a plumbing program, and a preferred state plumbing license.

Qualifications

• Journeyman plumber (or equivalent) with understanding of electrical safety and lockout/tagout standards.
• High School Diploma, Vocational School or equivalent required, plus completion of plumbing program with blueprint reading, sheet metal work, mechanical drawing, electrical wiring, and plumbing.
• State plumbing license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install and repair pipes and fixtures for water, gas, steam, air, or liquids; install supports for pipes, equipment, and fixtures prior to installation.
• Perform inspections on interceptors, separators, and acid neutralizers.
• Replace faucets and plumbing fixtures; install new piping ½ inch to 8 inch; perform snake drainage.
• Test backflow devices; install hot water tanks.
• Inspect, maintain and repair fire protection systems (sprinklers, standpipes, pumps, dry chemical piping).
• Read blueprints and sketches to complete workload efficiently.
• Interact with co-workers, visitors, and other staff in line with Jefferson values.
• Perform other maintenance duties as assigned by supervisor or lead.

Education

Plumbing program from technical school

State Plumbing License Preferred
