Job summary

Prime Healthcare’s Olympia Fields facility seeks a Plant Operator I to provide construction and maintenance for hospital facilities. The role troubleshoots and repairs components, prioritizes tasks, and ensures compliance with regulations and hospital policies to keep the environment safe and efficient.

The position requires 2+ years in Plant Operations, with a valid driver’s license and a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in an acute healthcare setting preferred.
• Two years of experience in Plant Operations required.
• Plant Operator or equivalent certificate preferred.
• Operator apprenticeship preferred.
• Able to troubleshoot, read schematics, and/or blueprints.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• The Plant Operator I provides physical plant construction and maintenance services for hospital facilities under the direction of engineering senior management.
• This role assesses, prioritizes, troubleshoots, and repairs facility components requiring design, life-cycle planning, repair, replacement, or new installation.
• The Plant Operator I leads the physical plant team in the operation, maintenance, repair, and installation of general building components, equipment, and apparatus to provide a comfortable and safe hospital environment.
