Job summary

ChristianaCare is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join the team in Elkton, Maryland. This part-time role covers 40 hours biweekly with a rotating day/evening shift and every other weekend and holiday requirements.

Responsibilities include assisting pharmacists, managing cart fills, stock reordering, IV preparation, and safe handling of hazardous medications. Pharmacy tech certification and MD license are required, with hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• PTCB certification required unless enrolled in a PharmD program.
• Maryland Pharmacy Technician License required.
• Hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• Basic typing skills mentioned as a desired capability.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in providing timely, efficient pharmaceutical care to the patient.
• Refill patient medication bins through robot cart fill and manual picks; update carts and labeling.
• Deliver and exchange 24-hour cart fill to nursing units at scheduled times; ensure proper stock.
• Reorder medications in short supply and restock the picking station and other areas.
• Prepare IV medications using aseptic techniques in compliance with USP regulations.
• Use PPE and closed system transfer devices for hazardous medications.
