Job summary

Luminis Health, Inc. is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist in the timely preparation, packaging, distribution and delivery of medications under the supervision of a Maryland-licensed pharmacist.

You will perform drug distribution, compounding, dose calculations, and quality assurance steps, while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations and hospital procedures. This role requires precise execution, professional communication, and adherence to sterile and non-sterile

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Pharmacy experience in hospital or retail setting preferred.
• Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern from the Maryland Board of Pharmacy; in good standing.
• PTCB Certified or ExCPT (National Pharmacy Technician Board Certification).

Responsibilities

• Accurately and efficiently performs drug distribution, medication preparation, compounding, dose calculation, and QA tasks per department SOPs.
• Maintains knowledge of department policies and procedures and completes competency assessments.
• Delivers medications to appropriate locations and monitors storage conditions for compliance and safety.
• Complies with policies for controlled substances distribution and maintains counts and paperwork.
• Answers calls and med messages professionally and follows up as needed.
• Supports USP797/800 guidelines for sterile compounding and performs required calculations.
• Generates and interprets reports from the hospital information system and supports unit dose repackaging to minimize drug waste.
• Participates in the emergency drug supply system and specialty tray maintenance.
• Supplements orientation and training of new staff and acts as a resource to coworkers.
• Identifies opportunities for improvement and contributes ideas for workplace efficiency.
