Job summary

HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital in Port Charlotte, FL seeks a Registered Pharmacy Technician to prepare and dispense drugs per procedures and maintain records. You will support pharmacists, manage inventory, and help ensure safe medication delivery to our caregivers.

The role emphasizes accuracy, customer service, and adherence to safety guidelines as we strive to improve patient outcomes and community health at our 237-bed acute care facility.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED.
• Minimum 1 year of Pharmacy Technician experience preferred.
• Current FL Registered Pharmacy Tech; or Florida licensed pharmacy intern.
• Pharmacy Tech Certification (CphT) preferred.
• Pharmacy knowledge includes medical terminology and prescription drug names.
• Excellent customer service, interpersonal communication, organizational skills, PC skills, analytical skills, and clerical skills.

Responsibilities

• Count, package, and label unit dosages for pharmacist inspection.
• Assist pharmacists with filling orders and preparing labels.
• Perform quality control and auditing to ensure medication availability for caregivers.
• Prepare IV mixtures and operate automated systems.
• Maintain pharmacy inventory and perform clerical duties.
• Contribute to hospital improvement and service-excellence goals.
• Follow guidelines for reporting significant medical errors or harm.
