Memorial Hermann Health System in Sugar Land, TX seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in dispensing medications, maintaining inventories, and assisting with sterile compounding and patient safety.

Under supervision, you will receive prescriptions, load a PYXIS system, prepare unit-dose medications, and coordinate with nursing staff to ensure timely, accurate deliveries; prior hospital experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current Pharmacy Tech registration or Pharmacist intern registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy required.
• ACPE IV Certification with completion of 40-hour course in IV admixture preferred; Sterile Products Certification required if incumbent compounds sterile products.

Responsabilités

• Select prescribed medications according to dosage and strength indicated on patient medication file or cart-fill list.
• Receive merchandise and place into inventory.
• Monitor inventory for out-of-stock or out-of-date items.
• Deliver medications to patient care areas.
• Inspect and maintain emergency medication trays.
• Package and label unit-dose liquids/tablets and maintain pre-pack records.
• Load drugs into automated dispensing system (PYXIS).
• Maintain inventory for non-automated patient care areas.
• Respond to medication requests from nursing staff and other departments.
• Follow processes to ensure medications are compliant with safety checks.
