Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists and assist in preparing medications, maintaining inventory, and ensuring timely patient care across the health system.

You will work under direct supervision, handling unit-dose carts, ADCs, and both sterile and non-sterile compounding after training, while prioritizing accuracy and patient safety. Flexibility across shifts is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Registration with the NC Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.
• Completion of formal or NC BOP approved pharmacy technician program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in medication preparation by selecting, counting, compounding, reconstituting, packaging and labeling per guidelines.
• Maintain and replenish inventory and stock crash carts and supplies throughout the health system.
• Demonstrate competency in telephone triage and provide excellent customer service.
• Refill and deliver unit dose cart fills and IV admixtures in a timely manner.
• Perform sterile and non-sterile compounding after training and in accordance with procedures.
• Participate in nursing unit inspections and surveillance to eliminate expired medications.
• Assist in precepting and training of new pharmacy technicians and students.
