Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
PTCB certification required OR ExCPhT completion.
Registered with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy required OR register within 30 days of hire.
Pharmacy technician program completion preferred.
1 year experience as a pharmacy technician preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist in medication preparation by selecting, counting, compounding, reconstituting, packaging and labeling.
Maintain and replenish inventory of medications and supplies.
Stock and replace emergency crash carts, drug boxes, and other items.
Refill unit dose carts, Pyxis batches, parenteral TPNs and IV admixtures.
Perform sterile and non-sterile compounding after training.
Conduct nursing unit inspections and help eliminate expired medications.
Assist in training new technicians and students; orient and become competent in ADC operations within first year.
Protect patient privacy and confidentiality.
Other duties as assigned.
