Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• PTCB certification required OR ExCPhT completion.
• Registered with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy required OR register within 30 days of hire.
• Pharmacy technician program completion preferred.
• 1 year experience as a pharmacy technician preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in medication preparation by selecting, counting, compounding, reconstituting, packaging and labeling.
• Maintain and replenish inventory of medications and supplies.
• Stock and replace emergency crash carts, drug boxes, and other items.
• Refill unit dose carts, Pyxis batches, parenteral TPNs and IV admixtures.
• Perform sterile and non-sterile compounding after training.
• Conduct nursing unit inspections and help eliminate expired medications.
• Assist in training new technicians and students; orient and become competent in ADC operations within first year.
• Protect patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Other duties as assigned.
