Job summary

Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center in Washington, DC, operated by Universal Health Services (UHS), seeks a Pharmacy Technician for full-time night shift. The role supports a licensed pharmacist in medication preparation, distribution, and inventory control within a hospital setting.

Responsibilities include dose calculations, IV admixtures, and adherence to USP standards while maintaining accurate records and ensuring patient safety.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Licensed as a Pharmacy Technician in the District of Columbia.
• Minimum one year experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a hospital setting preferred.
• Associate's Degree from an accredited Technical School, College or University preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute drug orders under supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Perform medication dose calculations for adults and pediatrics.
• Operate Pyxis and other unit-dose technologies under pharmacist supervision.
• Issue controlled substances with pharmacist oversight and maintain records as required by law.
• Follow USP 795, 797, and 800 standards; prepare IV admixtures using aseptic technique.
• Maintain logs and documentation; restock and restock Code Cart Trays.
• Keep license current and maintain appropriate records for inspections.
