Job summary

Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, Inc. is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Technician to support inpatient and outpatient medication preparation and dispensing.

The role reports to the Pharmacy Manager and works under staff pharmacists to ensure the clinical team has the medications and tools needed for patient care. Responsibilities include preparing drug orders, replenishing Pyxis, maintaining IV and cart supplies, and ensuring accurate documentation for billing and inventory.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of hospital pharmacy technician experience.
• 1 year of sterile compounding experience.
• CPhT and RPT certifications required upon hire.
• Strong knowledge of metric conversions and ratio/proportions.
• Passing score of 90% on calculation and aseptic preparation exams.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers and healthcare staff according to Jefferson values.
• Prepares drug orders from Physicians for pharmacist review and dispensing.
• Replenishes Pyxis machines; monitors refrigerator temps and documents actions.
• Counts, compounds, and repackages pharmaceuticals per procedures.
• Dispenses medications and restocks pharmacy inventory; supports department and nursing units.
