Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• RPT - Registered Pharmacy Technician - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
• New Jersey pharmacy technicians must obtain and maintain current registration from the New Jersey Board of Pharmacy within 180 days of hire
• For All New Jersey Entities - All pharmacy technicians will be required to be certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). All new hires must achieve this certification within 12 months of hire

Responsibilities

• Prepares drug orders from Physicians for review and dispensing by a Registered Pharmacist.
• Replenishes Pyxis machines; monitors refrigerator temperatures and documents corrective action.
• Counts, compounds and repackages pharmaceuticals using established procedures.
• Medication dispensing and distribution to patient areas; restock of pharmacy inventory.
• Performs billing/crediting functions to ensure proper medication billing and documents waste.
• Picks up Physician orders from team centers as required by the Pharmacist.
