St. Luke’s University Health Network is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists with med orders, IV preparation and routine duties in a hospital setting. You will fill medications, manage cassettes, and assist in transitions of care, working a weekend/holiday rotation.

The role requires on-the-job training within six months, and active state registration where you work. Strong communication and confidentiality are essential as you collaborate with nurses and staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum six months previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• Requires successful completion of on-the-job training within six months of employment.
• Registered Pharmacy technicians must maintain active status with the state Board of Pharmacy in the states worked.

Responsibilities

• Fills medications and IV orders from computer-generated labels and delivers to care areas.
• Demonstrates professional communication with staff, answers questions and directs drug information to a pharmacist.
• Prepares prepackaged medications under pharmacist supervision and maintains appropriate logs.
• Prepares parenteral, admixture, anti-neoplastic and Home IV Therapy orders under supervision.
• Keeps work area clean, maintains par levels, and restocks as needed.
• Delivers or retrieves medications and supports Transitional Care Unit activities.
• Completes and maintains IV/Admixtures lab competencies and ensures patient safety.
