Job summary

Qualifications
- Certification requirements vary by state; licensure or student pharmacist status may be required.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician within 2 years of license issue date (IL) - varies.
- Licensed Pharmacy Technician within 60 days of license application - IL.
- Exempt/Not Required for some certifications in Illinois.
Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and label chemotherapy drugs for administration.
- Accurately fill and deliver Omnicell restock lists.
- Assist in developing and maintaining training materials.
- Enter and process new prescriptions and refills; fill orders timely.
- Perform billing functions and charging for medications and nursing units.
- Prepare IV products using aseptic technique and proper labeling.
- Prepare parenteral nutrition solutions and batch IV products as needed.
- Prepare enteral nutritional supplements and maintain records.
- Provide services to the Operating Room medication room.
