Job summary

East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist in preparing and dispensing medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist to provide quality patient care.

Responsibilities include maintaining inventory, restocking, and removing outdated medications, and delivering excellent customer service to physicians, nurses, and other hospital staff while collaborating with the pharmacy team to ensure optimal patient care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Alabama State Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration required; if licensed after Jan 1, 2020 must obtain Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate (CPhT) or complete an ALBOP approved technician training program within 6 months of registration.
• One-year previous experience in hospital or retail pharmacy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and dispense medications under supervision of a licensed pharmacist to provide quality patient care.
• Maintain inventory by verifying receipt, restocking and removing outdated medications.
• Provide excellent customer service to physicians, nurses and other hospital staff.
