Job summary

Temecula Valley Hospital, part of Southwest Healthcare, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in daily duties and ensure compliance with California State Law.

You will prepare drug orders, operate automation (Pyxis, unit dose machines), issue controlled substances under supervision, and assist with purchasing and inventory control, ensuring accuracy and safety across the department.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of pharmacy technician experience.
• Preferred 1-3 year of Hospital experience.
• Current CA Pharmacy Technician Certification or CA Intern Pharmacist license.
• PTCB designation of Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred or obtain certification within six months of hire and maintain current thereafter.
• Basic typing abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare drug orders according to established policies, procedures and timelines.
• Operate automation technology under pharmacist supervision (Pyxis, unit dose machines).
• Issue controlled substances to patient care areas under supervision and maintain records as required by law.
• Assist with drug purchasing and inventory control.
