Job summary

Universal Health Services (UHS) invites applications for a Pharmacy Technician at Temecula Valley Hospital. You will support licensed pharmacists, operate Pyxis and other automation, and ensure accurate dispensing and record-keeping in a busy hospital setting.

California licensure or intern status with a current certification is required; 1 year of pharmacy tech experience is preferred. Growth opportunities and competitive compensation are offered within UHS and its subsidiaries.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of pharmacy technician experience.
• Preferred 1-3 year of Hospital experience.
• High School Graduate/Equivalent.
• Preferred Technical School/ 1-2 Year College/ Associate's Degree
• Basic typing abilities.
• Current CA Pharmacy Technician Certification or CA Intern Pharmacist license
• PTCB designation of Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred or obtain certification within six (6) months of hire and maintain current thereafter

Responsibilities

• Prepare drug orders according to established policies, procedures and protocols, and within specified time frame.
• Operate automation technology, under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, (Pyxis, computers, unit dose machines, etc).
• Issue controlled substances, under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, to patient care areas and maintains records as required by law.
• Perform the essential functions relating to drug purchasing and inventory control

Pharmacy Technician

The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for supporting the pharmacists in their duties by providing technical assistance in accordance with department policy and California State law. They will maintain close working communication with pharmacists and other Pharmacy technicians regarding the various department programs.
