Job summary

Temecula Valley Hospital in Temecula, CA is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists by providing technical assistance in accordance with department policy and California State law. The technician will work closely with pharmacists and other Pharmacy technicians regarding the various department programs.

Responsibilities include preparing drug orders, operating automation technology, dispensing controlled substances under supervision, and assisting with drug purchasing and inventory

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of pharmacy technician experience.
• Preferred 1-3 year of Hospital experience.
• Current CA Pharmacy Technician Certification or CA Intern Pharmacist license.
• PTCB designation of Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred or obtain certification within six months of hire and maintain current thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Prepare drug orders according to established policies, procedures and protocols.
• Operate automation technology under the supervision of a registered pharmacist (Pyxis, unit dose machines, etc.).
• Issue controlled substances under the supervision of a registered pharmacist and maintain records as required by law.
• Perform essential functions relating to drug purchasing and inventory control.
