Job summary
Universal Health Services (UHS) invites applications for a Pharmacy Technician at Temecula Valley Hospital. You will support licensed pharmacists, operate Pyxis and other automation, and ensure accurate dispensing and record-keeping in a busy hospital setting.
California licensure or intern status with a current certification is required; 1 year of pharmacy tech experience is preferred. Growth opportunities and competitive compensation are offered within UHS and its subsidiaries.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of pharmacy technician experience.
- Preferred 1-3 year of Hospital experience.
- High School Graduate/Equivalent.
- Preferred Technical School/ 1-2 Year College/ Associate's Degree
- Basic typing abilities.
- Current CA Pharmacy Technician Certification or CA Intern Pharmacist license
- PTCB designation of Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred or obtain certification within six (6) months of hire and maintain current thereafter
Responsibilities
- Prepare drug orders according to established policies, procedures and protocols, and within specified time frame.
- Operate automation technology, under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, (Pyxis, computers, unit dose machines, etc).
- Issue controlled substances, under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, to patient care areas and maintains records as required by law.
- Perform the essential functions relating to drug purchasing and inventory control
