Job summary

UMass Memorial Health Marlborough Hospital is seeking a pharmacy technician to assist with dispensing medications, preparing IV admixtures and maintaining pharmacy inventory. The role supports the Department of Pharmacy with automated dispensing systems, charges, and reporting.

The position emphasizes accuracy, adherence to policies, and collaboration with pharmacists and healthcare teams. A CPhT or willingness to obtain is required within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with drug brand and generic names.
• Knowledge of admixing sterile intravenous products.
• Previous hospital pharmacy experience (minimum of 500 hours as a pharmacy technician trainee).
• CPhT is preferred but not required; must obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Licensed by MA Board of Pharmacy required.
• High School Education or certificate of equivalency.

Responsibilities

• Assist professional personnel in dispensing medications and preparing IV admixtures.
• Deliver IV solutions and medications and replace medication to floor stock.
• Maintain records and ensure professional appearance of the Pharmacy.
• Restock and operate automated dispensing machines (e.g., Pyxis Medstation).
• Process charges and generate reports in the pharmacy computer system.
• Handle inventory management and sign-in/approval processes for samples and representatives.
