Erie County Medical Center Corporation (ECMCC) seeks a Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists in compounding, labeling and dispensing medications for patient orders. The role supports preparation, data verification, and stock management in the Pharmacy Department.

Under direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, the technician ensures accurate records, proper labeling, and timely delivery of medications to units and patients, maintaining safety and compliance with procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and NYS Registered Pharmacy Technician license.
• Role requires ability to assist in compounding, labeling and dispensing under licensed pharmacist supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed pharmacist in compounding, preparing and labeling drugs.
• Retrieve prescription data from medical records for verification.
• Retrieve drugs from stock and return to stock.
• Prepare dosage units in appropriate containers for orders.
• Attach prescription labels to containers.
• Maintain records of dispensing with pharmacist sign-off.
• Handle and deliver completed medications to authorized personnel.
• Monitor expiration dates and remove expired medications.
• Conduct nursing unit inspections regarding dispensing of drugs.
• Repackage medications into dispensing units.
