Job summary

Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola Hospital is hiring a Pharmacy Technician for the Retail Pharmacy department in Pensacola, FL. The role covers day, full-time schedule with responsibilities spanning compounding, inventory, and care coordination.

Minimum requirements include PTCB or Florida Board credentials, and HS diploma with 2 years' experience (or AA/Tech degree, or 4 years related experience). Hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• PTCB credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board or Florida Board of Pharmacy registration required.
• Education: HS diploma or equivalent with 2 years of cumulative experience, or AA/Technical degree, or 4 years of applicable experience.

Responsibilities

• Execute complex compounding operations including nuclear and hazardous drug prep.
• Manage bulk medication inventory, shortages and automated dispensing systems.
• Coordinate care across patients, providers and external pharmacies to optimize outcomes.
• Secure medication access via benefit investigations, prior authorizations, and financial aid programs.
• Support immunization and patient education to enhance clinical team effectiveness.
