Job summary

Valley Baptist - Harlingen hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support licensed pharmacists in dispensing, stocking ADCs, IV admixtures, and inventory management for inpatients and outpatients. You will handle medication labeling, cart preparation, and responsive service to patient care areas.

The role requires a high school diploma, 18 years of age, and a registered pharmacy technician license. Preferred: hospital experience and sterile product/IV admixture certification.

Preferred: Hospital experience.
Required: Registered Pharmacy Technician license/certification, as required by state law.
Preferred: Accredited training in sterile products preparation and IV Admixture Certification.

Responsibilities

Accurately fill and label medication orders with correct strength, dosage form, and quantity in a timely manner.
Accurately stock automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs) in a timely manner.
Re-pack and label oral medications/extemporaneous preparations and maintain appropriate records.
Prepare simple IV admixtures (excluding chemotherapy, biotherapy) accurately, consistent with IV policies and procedures.
Comply with state and federal regulatory requirements, Joint Commission standards and Tenet policies and procedures.
