Job summary

Fort Washington Medical Center in Maryland is seeking a Pharmacy Technician II to support drug distribution, preparation, compounding, dosing, and quality assurance in our pharmacy department. This role requires a Maryland Pharmacy Technician license and at least 2 years in a hospital pharmacy with aseptic technique.

PTCB/CPhT certification is preferred and must be obtained within 6 months if not held. The position is variable part-time (4 hours per week) with rotating shifts and weekend

Qualifications

• High School diploma is required.
• Licensed as Pharmacy Technician by the Maryland Board.
• PTCB or CPhT certification preferred; must be obtained within 6 months if not held.
• Must communicate effectively with customers.
• At least 2 years of hospital pharmacy experience with aseptic technique (USP 797).

Responsibilities

• Perform drug distribution, preparation, compounding, dose calculation, and QA tasks.
• Deliver medications to locations via manual, pneumatic tube, or automated cabinets.
• Monitor storage environments and assist with unit inspections.
• Answer calls and respond to medication messages promptly.
• Maintain professional interactions with patients and healthcare staff.
