Job summary

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of a formal technician training program, and Alabama State Board of Pharmacy registration, with at least six months of hospital pharmacy

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a formal technician training program.
  • Must be registered with the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks under the certified Pharmacy Technician I level.
  • Place medication orders daily to maintain inventory.
  • Request POs and submit invoices for payment as needed.
  • Manage annual inventory and establish par levels.
  • Maintain documentation for borrows/loans to other facilities.
  • Organize pharmacy storage areas and department material.
  • Communicate back orders and shortages to staff.
  • Process interdepartmental billing and coordinate with accounts payable.
  • Promote patient safety and exceptional service.
