Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a pharmacy support professional to assist pharmacists in dispensing prescriptions, manage inventory, and maintain accurate records. The role emphasizes accuracy, customer service, and adherence to policy in a fast-paced hospital pharmacy setting.

Responsibilities include preparing orders, labeling, coordinating with team members, and training new staff. Position is onsite with day shifts at Muhlenberg campus.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Active enrollment in a pre-pharmacy or pharmacy degree program.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good math skills for counting, measuring and weighing medications.
  • Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assists pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription orders.
  • Adheres to all pharmacy policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Fills medication orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensures medications are properly labeled, checked by a pharmacist, and dispensed timely.
  • Prioritizes workload, stays organized, and coordinates with team members.
  • Monitors medication expiration dates and prevents expired meds in circulation.
  • Records related to controlled substances; maintains inventories.
  • Communicates drug information requests to a pharmacist.
  • Demonstrates competency with pharmacy equipment and duties.
  • Answers phones and attends to customer needs promptly.
  • Assists with orientation and training of new pharmacy colleagues.
  • Maintains adequate inventory of prescription and/or OTC products.
