Job summary

Women & Infants Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Student to support pharmacists in preparing, dispensing and inventory management of medications. You will assist in maintaining patient records, creating reports and labeling medications while adhering to infection control standards.

The role requires a High School diploma with pharmacy exposure or enrollment in a hospital-based training program for Pharmacy Technician certification.

Qualifications

• High School graduate with experience in pharmacy or enrollment in a hospital-based training program leading to Pharmacy Technician certification.
• Current Rhode Island pharmacist intern licensure is required.
• Experience with computers and good interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competency, individually and as part of the multidisciplinary performing clinical care and assessment of all patient populations.
• Assists in the preparation of drug compounds and solutions.
• Fills, checks and delivers medication orders.
• Maintains departmental infection control standards.
• Maintains patient medical records information.
• Creates various reports and documents in support of department record-keeping.
• Assists in the management of pharmacy inventory.
• Protects and preserves patient rights to confidentiality.
• Performs other job-related duties as requested by supervisor.
