Job summary

UnitedHealth Group's CPS, The Brook Hospital in Louisville, KY, seeks a Director of Pharmacy to oversee hospital pharmacy operations, planning, organizing and supervising activities in accordance with hospital policies and laws. This full-time role includes weekend on-call and a dedicated support team.

You will lead pharmacists and technicians, drive medication safety and quality initiatives, manage budgets, and collaborate with clinical leaders to support patient care and organizational goals.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy degree (BS or PharmD) from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy; PharmD preferred.
• Current Kentucky Pharmacist license in good standing.
• Experience using computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and pharmacy information systems.
• Proven ability to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond to client concerns.
• Demonstrated accuracy and timeliness in a work setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage hospital pharmacy operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and timely medication distribution.
• Supervise, coach, and develop pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, technicians, and interns.
• Oversee medication safety and quality initiatives, reducing errors and improving patient outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards, including Joint Commission, USP, and state/federal laws.
• Manage departmental budgets, inventory, and purchasing, controlling costs while maintaining service levels.
• Collaborate with clinical leaders and interdisciplinary teams to support patient care and organizational goals.
• Implement policies, procedures, and performance metrics, driving continuous improvement and accountability.
