Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy with BS Pharm or PharmD Degree.
• Completion of pharmacy internship and holds state licensure.

Responsibilities

• Prepares medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders, detecting therapeutic incompatibilities.
• Dispenses medications by compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.
• Controls medications by monitoring drug therapies; advising interventions.
• Organizes technicians' workflow; verifies preparation, labeling, and order entries.
• Provides pharmacological information by answering questions and counseling patients on drug therapies.
• Develops hospital staff's pharmacological knowledge by training pharmacy staff, students, interns, externs, residents, and health care professionals.
• Maintains compliance with state and federal drug laws and conducts inspections and records management as required.
• Protects patients by adhering to infection-control protocols and safety procedures.
