McLaren Health Care in Detroit, MI is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to support the pharmacy team under supervision. You will assist in dispensing, preparation, and delivery of medications while learning through the academic year.

The role emphasizes aseptic technique, safe handling of antimicrobials, and collaboration with clinicians to optimize patient care. Per diem schedule offers exposure to diverse hospital operations and hands-on training.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a professional program at an accredited College of Pharmacy; registered or eligible for Pharmacy Intern.
• Strong analytical skills to resolve complex math and dosage calculations.
• Knowledge of generic/trade names and aseptic technique; safe handling of antimicrobials and hazardous materials.
• Clear verbal and written communication to interact with health care teams.

Responsabilités

• Consult with medical staff, nurses, and other providers to coordinate drug delivery to patients.
• Participate in programs to improve clinical and operational components of the department.
• Assist in filling prescription orders and maintain records; perform quality monitoring tasks.
• Assist in extramporaneous preparation of parental products, following aseptic guidelines for antimicrobials and biologics.
• Package tablets, capsules and liquids using automated equipment; assist with bulk compounding and label products.
