Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Patient Transport Associate to move patients and equipment throughout the hospital. This role involves documenting patient trips, assisting with transfers, and coordinating with nurses and departments to ensure timely, safe patient flow.

The position requires the ability to read and write English, follow written and verbal instructions, and work well in a team. The pay range is $17.00–$22.88 per hour, with standard benefits and health vaccination

Responsibilities

• Document patient trips using Hospital Throughput system.
• Transport patients to and from clinical areas.
• Transport and move patients in beds, wheelchairs, or stretchers.
• Assist staff with lifting or sliding patients from bed to bed or care table.
• Transport equipment as needed by the Transport Department.
• Use mobile device to access Hospital Throughput system.
• Obtain a Ticket to Ride from the nurse on arrival to the floor.
• Communicate with RN or unit representative before patient leaves or returns to room.
• Park bed/stretcher/wheelchair safely and lower patient’s bed as needed.
• Inform receiving department when patient arrives.
• Maintain cleanliness of patient equipment after each trip.
• Report equipment issues to Manager and create BioMed service requests.
