Baton Rouge General Medical Center seeks a Paramedic to join our hospital-based ambulance service, delivering advanced life support and rapid response throughout campus and in pre-hospital settings.

You will respond to emergencies, assess severity, manage airway and cardiac care, and operate emergency vehicles in accordance with BRG policies and state laws. A current LA Paramedic license and national certification are required.

Qualifikationen

• 1+ year of experience as a Paramedic.
• Nationally Certified Paramedic with valid Louisiana Paramedic License.
• LA Class D Chauffeur's License.
• BLS, ACLS required; PALS and NRP within 6 months of hire.
• Crisis Prevention training within 6 months of hire.
• Physically capable of performing job functions.
• Knowledge of LA traffic laws and safe driving practices.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Aufgaben

• Deliver advanced life support in pre-hospital environments, on-site emergencies, and during transport.
• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls efficiently and compassionately.
• Assess injury/illness severity and prioritize interventions accordingly.
• Provide emergency diagnostics and treatments, including airway management, cardiac monitoring, medication administration, and CPR.
• Utilize advanced equipment to treat traumatic injuries and manage cardiac dysrhythmias.
• Respond as in-house paramedic for Rapid Response Team to care for patients, visitors, and staff as needed.
• Operate emergency vehicle safely in compliance with laws and hospital protocols.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and restock medical inventory each shift.
• Complete all documentation and manage controlled substances per policy.
• Serve in ED Paramedic role or represent BRG at public events as needed.
• Perform additional duties to ensure smooth operation of the Ambulance Transport Service
