Job summary

Capital Health is seeking a remote Medical Coder to accurately code outpatient hospital encounters, including clinic records and emergency services.

You will use an encoder and EMR, maintain quality benchmarks, and manage the DNFB to minimize uncoded days. The ideal candidate holds CPC-A/COC-A certification (CPC/COC preferred) with a high school diploma and strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS. Job description

• Accurately code outpatient hospital encounters including clinic records, diagnostic services, and emergency medical services.
• Meet or exceed established quality and productivity benchmarks while managing the DNFB to minimize uncoded days.
• Abstract data with high accuracy and ensure compliance with medical coding policies and guidelines.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; must hold CPC-A or COC-A certification; CPC or COC preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS.
• Experience using an encoder and EMR; excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment, with frequent provider and hospital exchanges.
• Fast-paced setting requiring attention to detail, adaptability, and effective interaction with staff.

Compensation & Culture:

• Pay range of $21.76 - $28.28 per hour for a standard 40-hour work week.
