Job summary

GoodVets in Chicago is seeking an experienced Hospital Operations Manager to be the operational heartbeat of the hospital. You will oversee daily operations, staffing, inventory, compliance, and reporting to ensure top-tier care and client experience.

You'll lead a team, hire and onboard new members, coach performance, create schedules, and deliver monthly performance insights, margins, and trends, while fostering a growth-focused, empathetic culture across the practice.

Qualifications

  • Proven work experience as Hospital Operations Manager or similar role strongly preferred.
  • Three plus years in veterinary medicine with progressive responsibilities; technician background preferred
  • Powerful leadership skills with ability to train and mentor others
  • Advanced skills in Practice Management Systems and MS Excel
  • Basic accounting skills
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and enforce SOPs and hospital protocols to maximize productivity and patient satisfaction
  • Strong communication with hospital and corporate teams; confident in decision making
  • Demonstrated passion to improve pet and client outcomes

The Opportunity

As our Hospital Operations Manager, you’ll be the operational heartbeat of the hospital. You’ll run day-to-day, ensuring your team meets and exceeds performance, financial, and client-experience targets. From staffing and scheduling to inventory, compliance, and reporting, you’re the leader who makes the hospital run smoothly with a culture that attracts top talent and delivers exceptional veterinary care and patient experiences.

Required Qualifications
  • Proven work experience as a Hospital Operations Manager, Medical Office Manager or similar role strongly preferred.
  • Three plus years in veterinary medicine with progressive responsibilities, technician background strongly preferred
  • Powerful leadership skills and an empathetic approach to management, experience training and mentoring/developing others
  • Advanced skills in Practice Management Systems and MS Excel.
