Island Health in Anacortes, WA, is seeking a Nutrition Assistant to support the Dietary team. The role focuses on preparing patient meals, taking room-service orders by phone, and maintaining diet cardex, while ensuring sanitary handling and accurate tray assembly for hospital patients.

The position offers per diem/variable scheduling with an onsite, hospital-based work environment and a salary range of $18.79–$27.92 per hour plus shift differentials.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Current Food and Beverage Worker's Permit required.
• Minimum 1 year of institutional food service experience preferred.
• Ability to work with others under changing conditions.
• Growth and development knowledge across life span.

Responsabilités

• Maintains diet cardex.
• Takes room service orders by telephone.
• Processes diet orders and menus for patients.
• Tallies and records department statistics.
• Interacts positively with staff, patients and visitors.
• Prepares and serves cold foods and beverages for patient trays.
• Prepares patient nourishments and trays.
• Delivers special food orders.
• Observes refrigerator/freezer temperatures.
• Performs general cleaning and prep work for tray line.
• Supports Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives.
• Communicates effectively with Administration and leadership.
