Job summary

Inova Specialty Hospital in Alexandria, VA is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA) for PRN/Per Diem, 12-hour shifts. The role supports post-ICU patients with bathing, oral hygiene and daily patient care, in a 44,000+ strong patient care team.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and hospital CNA experience, plus BLS within 90 days of hire. This position offers an orientation program and potential for advancement within a large health system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years).
• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant).
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair.
• Participate in hourly rounds.
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs.
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition.
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
