Job summary

Aurora Health Care is seeking a Dietary Aide to assemble patient and visitor meals in accordance with diet guidelines. You will transport meal carts, deliver trays, and support cafeteria operations while maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards.

The role involves assisting with catering events, preparing snacks and beverages, and ensuring timely delivery to nursing units and patient areas. Prior food service experience is preferred, with basic computer skills for document tracking.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge in hospital/food service settings.
• Ability to read and understand written and oral communications.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office or similar products.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and deliver patient meals per diet guidelines.
• Load and transport food carts and deliver trays to patient rooms.
• Operate cafeteria cash register and assist with cash handling.
• Perform cleaning duties in kitchen and cafeteria per sanitation procedures.
• Assist with catering events and daily specials preparation and presentation.
• Prepare snacks and beverages for patient meals.
• Maintain supply and presentation of food and condiments in service areas.
• Deliver and stock in nursing units and other patient areas.
• Monitor food temperatures and ensure safe food handling.
