LCMC Health in Metairie, LA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to repair and maintain hospital equipment, plumbing, and electrical systems, with on-site support for nurse call and fire alarm systems. The role emphasizes safety, documentation, and responsiveness to maintenance requests.

You will perform preventive maintenance, inspect safety systems, and coordinate with other crafts while ensuring patient safety and compliance with NFPA standards. Evening/shift work is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic/technician.
• Driver's License - Class E.
• Operates hand tools, power tools, equipment and electrical testing equipment requiring manual dexterity.
• Ability to understand oral and written instructions, schematic drawings and layouts.
• Utilize computer maintenance management software.
• Ability to work alternative/shift work schedules including nights, weekends, holidays and overtime hours.

Responsabilités

• Perform general repairs and troubleshooting in assigned areas; locate, document and repair discrepancies.
• Perform daily preventive maintenance inspections/repairs and document results; conduct electrical safety checks.
• Ensure all work by other crafts is completed in assigned areas; monitor progress and completeness.
• Enter supply room activities as needed; avoid handling IV fluids; maintain communication with team.
• Maintain life safety and infection prevention measures; inspect fire/smoke rated doors and NFPA compliance; conduct safety rounds.
